Yet Tyndale continued to write from abroad, publishing polemics in defense of the principles of the English reformation. He was seized in Antwerp, imprisoned in Vilvoorde Castle near Brussels, and burnt at the stake for heresy in Daniell discusses Tyndale's achievement as biblical translator and expositor, analyzes his writing, examines his stylistic influence on writers from Shakespeare to those of the twentieth century, and explores the reasons why he has not been more highly regarded. His book brings to life one of the great geniuses of the age.

Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy. Furthermore, it was the first English biblical translation that was mass-produced as a result of new advances in the art of printing.
The term Tyndale's Bible is not strictly correct, because Tyndale never published a complete Bible. This is a reproduction of the original artefact. Generally these books are created from careful scans of the original.
His influence has been frequently under-valued. Almost all histories assume that Tyndale translated from the Vulgate and Martin Luther. The Tyndale Society adduces considerable evidence to suggest that his translations were made directly from the original Hebrew and Greek sources he had at his disposal.
Of the first edition of Tyndale's bible, only three copies survive. It shows the reformer's right hand on an open Bible, which in turn is resting on an early printing press.
There is also a memorial tower, the Tyndale Monument, erected in and prominent for miles around, on a hill above his birthplace of North Nibley. The site in Vilvoorde, Belgium 15 minutes north of Brussels by train where Tyndale was burned is also marked by a memorial.
